Agentic law in the European Union: Governing autonomous AI agents
I came up with the expression “Agentic law” that could be framed as a proposed legal field focused on regulating the behaviour of AI agents as operational actors in digital and physical environments, rather than regulating human behaviour mediated by AI. In practical terms, it targets systems capable of initiating actions (for explicit or implicit objectives), adapting post-deployment, interacting with other systems, and affecting outcomes without step-by-step human direction
